It’s true that healthcare varies from one person to the next because of our medical history, but there are certain areas of our health that doctors often agree to. These can be the kind of diet that we should follow, how many hours of sleep we should get, and so on. If you do your research, you’ll find that there are some numbers placed on specific areas of our health that we can actually use as a guide if we want to be healthy. Are you curious about this? Well, here are a few that you should know of.
A glass of wine
Did you know that drinking a glass of wine every day can actually lower your risk of heart disease? This is because of the tannins that are present in the wine which are known to fight off any free radicals that are causing harm to your heart and the rest of the body. Another plus to drinking wine is that it can actually reduce your depression and even boosting one’s memory. Red wine can be a good option but make sure that you stick with one glass only.
2 to 8 months
There are studies that show that it takes a person about 2 to 8 months of practicing a new healthy routine before it becomes a habit. This tends to vary depending on a person’s situation and their behavior as well. There will be occasional lapses, that much is true, but don’t let it stop you from sticking with your new healthy habit because you’ll get used to it. You just need to have patience and you’ll find that these healthy changes to your daily routine is already normal for you.
7 minutes
It only takes 7 minutes for you to start blasting fat and calories when you do HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training. HIIT is one of the best exercises that you can do that will help you lose weight in just a short time. You’ll be surprised to find that even for 7 minutes you will be working up a sweat.
7 hours
There is much debate on how many hours of sleep. Some will say that you get a minimum of 6 hours but you should aim for 7 hours at least. This will help your body to recuperate from your day’s activities and even repair the damaged tissues and cells. What’s more, you’ll feel energized the next day!
5 servings
Another number that you should know of is to have 5 servings or portions of fruit and vegetables per day if you want to reduce your risk from heart disease, cancer, and other health issues. Another reason to follow this rule is that these foods are actually high in fiber which can keep your belly full for hours. This is a great way for you to start with your weight loss.
6 teaspoons
Most of us have a sweet tooth which we should really cut back on as much as possible if we are trying to be healthy. If you are trying to change your ways, then sticking with 6 teaspoons of sugar per day should be the only sugar intake that you are going to use. This is going to be difficult at first but you’ll get used to it.Â
As you can see, there are numbers that you can follow if you want to correct your habits. They may be difficult to sustain at first but sticking to them can have its rewards.
