Whiten Your Nails Naturally

Must read

A lot of women are guilty of skipping using base coat on their nails because it takes up a lot of their time. Unfortunately, swiping your nail polish immediately without basic protection can take a toll on your nails, leaving them stained and brittle in the long run. If you want to bring back the natural whiteness of your nails so that you can skip wearing manicure in the meantime, try these natural treatments below.

Lemon and baking soda. One way to whiten your nails naturally is to apply a paste on your nails using a combination of baking soda and lemon juice. You will need to squeeze half a lemon to extract the juice and put it in a small bowl. Add a small amount of baking soda to create an abrasive paste then use a soft toothbrush to brush the paste gently on your nails. Rinse afterwards and repeat as often as needed. Just make sure that you don’t have any nicks or cuts in this area of your hands as the acidic juice can cause discomfort.

Lemon and soapy water. Another way to use lemon to remove the stains and discoloration in your nails is to combine lemon and soapy water in a bowl and simply soak your nails in it for 5 minutes at least. Rinse afterwards using fresh water then moisturizer after. Keep in mind that the acid from the lemon juice can dry your nails so it is best to apply moisturizer immediately.

Commercial denture cleaner. You will need to dissolve a few tablets of denture cleaner in a small bowl and soak your nails in it for 5 minutes. You might be skeptical at first but it’s worth a shot.

White vinegar. It is always a good idea to use white vinegar when it comes to whitening your nails naturally as it has acidic properties that can remove discoloration from your nails. This treatment is quite simple to do. Just add a few drops of white vinegar in a small bowl of warm water and soak your nails in it for 8 minutes. Rinse your hands afterwards and don’t forget to moisturize.

Whitening toothpaste. When it comes to whitening your nails, it wouldn’t hurt to use a whitening toothpaste to remove any stains or discoloration. Just use a baby toothbrush to brush your nails with the toothpaste and give them a good scrubbing for a few minutes. You will need to repeat this treatment several times especially when your nails are more stained than usual. Just make sure that you use the white toothpaste and not the gel ones. It would be even better to use one that has baking soda in it to speed up the treatment.

Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Here’s another nail whitening treatment that will yield some impressive results. Start by mixing 3% hydrogen peroxide with baking soda until you make a paste. Spread the paste on your nails evenly and leave it for 3 minutes. Rinse afterwards using warm water.

Lemon and salt. The lemon and salt combination is also a useful nail whitening treatment that will leave your nails white, glossy, and shiny. Just mix the two and rub it on your nails for a few minutes. Wash your hands afterwards.

These are just a few natural remedies that will help remove any discoloration on your nails. You can test each one of these treatments to see which one will work best for you. What’s great about these remedies is that they will bring the natural whiteness of your nails once more.
