Fortunately, treating dry scalp is not that difficult to do because there are many home remedies that can make this go away in no time.
If you are suffering from dry scalp, try these home remedies out.
Tea tree oil. One of the best home remedies that can help you deal with dry scalp is tea tree oil. This remedy is well known for its anti-inflammation, antifungal, and antibacterial properties that can alleviate the effects of dry scalp. To use this remedy, add 10 to 20 drops of this essential oil to half a cup of baby shampoo and use it every day until your scalp’s condition improves.
Lemon. Another remedy to use for dry scalp is lemon. It’s moisturizing and antiseptic properties can help address the dryness of your scalp easily. You can combine it with other ingredients like honey or with coconut oil just to name a few. To use lemon with honey, squeeze a lemon to get the juice then add some honey to it. Massage this solution on your scalp and leave it on for a few minutes. Rinse afterwards with shampoo and conditioner.
Coconut oil. Aside from using it with other home remedies, you can use coconut oil as is to treat dry scalp. You can just massage a small amount of coconut oil on your scalp after you shampoo your hair and scalp and leave it on for half an hour. Rinse afterwards with a shampoo that is perfume free. Another option is to melt a small amount of coconut oil and mix it with your choice of shampoo then wash your hair with it.
Egg yolk and olive oil. Sometimes it will take more than just an oil massage to alleviate dry scalp. Combining egg yolk and olive oil can actually help nourish your hair follicles, alleviate dryness in your scalp, and rejuvenate it as well. In a small bowl, add 2 to 3 egg yolks, a few drops of water, and 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Whisk the ingredients until they are mixed properly. Dampen your hair first before applying the mixture on your scalp and hair. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes then rinse it off using lukewarm water. If you don’t have olive oil on hand, you can use coconut oil or almond oil to get the same effects.Â
