Our busy schedules just keep on getting busier by the day as we take on way too many tasks both at home and at work. And who can blame us? What with making sure that the kids are on their way to school, and that you are helping out with the bills, it’s no wonder that we don’t have that much time to really put a lot of thought into our beauty routine.
The good news is that there are steps that you can take to making your beauty routine simple and one that can easily fit your busy schedule. Here’s what you need to do:
Don’t soak your hands
If you’ve been soaking your hands prior to applying manicure, you need to stop doing it, pronto! Soaking your hands in warm water can cause your nail bed to swell up. When this happens the nail lacquer that you have applied will become bigger than your nail and may chip easily once your nails go back to their normal size.
Skip your morning wash
You can always skip your morning wash especially when you have thoroughly cleansed your skin prior to bed. This is because your skin is still fresh come the morning. Also, constant cleansing can strip your skin of its natural oils which can leave it dry. If you’re sweating a lot, splash some warm water on your face then massage it for a few minutes. This will help revive your skin.
Keep it simple in makeup
It’s true that we don’t often step out of your home without wearing makeup, but when you are pressed for time, a few tricks will help you out. For example, bring a cream blush as it can be used both on your lips and your cheeks. You can also dab a small amount of Vaseline on your cheekbones as well as your lips to give it a natural gloss or shine. Another trick is to bring a concealer with you to spot treat any imperfections or blemishes on your skin.
Exfoliating
It’s true that dead skin cells remain on the surface of our skin but exfoliating regularly is not recommended. A better option would be to exfoliate once a week only to help bring out the natural glow of your skin. Keep in mind that the more you exfoliate, the more sensitive your skin can be.
Simplify your hairstyle
As much as we would like to have a perfectly coiffed hair, when you go for a layered cut, you will need more time to maintain it. This won’ do if you have a full schedule. If you have curly hair, and your hairstyle requires an extra time to get your hair done, maybe you should rethink what hair cut to get next time. If you are unsure on what hairstyle to use, talk to your stylist to determine what look will complement your face and the kind of lifestyle that you are living.
Skip washing hair every day
We often take a bath every day to get rid of the dirt, dust, sweat, oils, and whatnot from our skin. But it’s not really doing your hair any good. A better solution would be to shampoo your hair only two times a week to prevent clogging the pores on your scalp. On no-shampoo days, you can use a dry shampoo to retain your blowout, or simply spritz your hair with some water and style accordingly.
Simplifying your beauty routine is going to help you out in the long run as you will still look your best even when you are pressed for time. The tips mentioned above are just a few to get you started.
