Our skin needs to be taken care of all the time. You may think that this is a complete waste of time or that you don’t want to put up a fuss with regards to your skin care. Well, you see, as we grow older, we really need to do double time with our skin care regimen to prevent wrinkles, age spots, lines, and other signs of aging from appearing. Although there are plenty of beauty products that can help with keeping our skin look smooth and young, the chemicals that they contain are not really good for our skin in the long run. With that being said, there are a few tips that you can follow to step up your beauty routine. Here are a few to get you started.
Rosewater is good for your skin
Relying on chemical laden skin care products all the time is not really recommended because there is a chance that they can dry your skin up instead of moisturizing it. Well, one tip that you can do to step up your game is to make your own rose water for toner. You will need some distiller or filtered water, some dried rose buds, and an empty spray bottle. Start by putting about half a cup of dried rose buds in a glass container then pour hot, distilled water over them. Let the solution sit for about an hour two before straining the contents. Make sure that you put this DIY toner in the fridge and use it every day to see positive changes to your skin.
Always wear sunscreen
You may not notice it now but overexposing yourself to the harsh rays of the sun can actually trigger hyperpigmentation. This leads to uneven skin tone as well as age spots appearing. Although this doesn’t mean that you should hide from the sun, since you need the sun to produce vitamin D, what’s important is that you wear sunscreen protection as much as possible. Go for those that have higher SPF ratings because they can provide you with sufficient coverage. Apply this at least 15 minutes before you step outside your home.
Use kitchen ingredients
You don’t really need to spend a fortune on beauty products just so you will have beautiful looking skin. As a matter of fact, you already have all the ingredients that you need in your kitchen. Yes, you read that right, in your kitchen. You see, making your own face masks, exfoliants, and the like are considerably better compared to spending money on these products. You can start with a combination of mashed banana and honey as a face mask as these two ingredients are known for their healing and soothing properties. Just mash up a few pieces of banana, add some honey to it, then mix thoroughly. Apply it evenly on your face and allow to sit for a few minutes then wash thoroughly after.
