Must read

Blackheads are a common nuisance that are very hard to get rid of. Always start off any remedy by washing your face and hands with warm water to get rid of bacteria and to open up your pores.

Many people swear by egg whites as a home remedy for getting rid of blackheads. Aside from simply applying egg whites to your face and washing it off, there are two other ways to do it.

By mixing egg whites with other ingredients, you can get more out of your homemade facial mask. Applying a mixture of 1 egg white, ½ teaspoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon honey to your face will give you deeply cleansed pores that will clean off the gunk and excess oil deep within your pores. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes and tighten your skin before washing off with warm water first, then cold water.

Alternatively, apply a layer of egg white all over your skin. Place strips of toilet paper or tissue on top of the wet egg white layer until the tissue strips cover the area you want. Let it dry before applying another layer of egg white on top of the tissue. Let it sit until it’s dry and your skin feels tight. Afterwards, you can peel off the tissue and wash your face as usual to remove any residue.

Honey and Cinnamon

Honey can act as an adhesive that would stick to your blackheads and pull it out while cleaning your pores. It also has anti-bacterial agents that could keep off acne-causing bacteria. Cinnamon, on the other hand, increases blood flow thereby giving your skin a healthy glow.

Mix one part honey with one part cinnamon into a paste until you have enough to cover the area. Apply over your blackheads and then press a strip of cotton over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes before removing. Wash any residue left with warm water first and then cold water.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a natural and gentle exfoliator. It can also soak up any excess oil while nourishing the skin. Simply make a paste of oatmeal and water and then apply all over the face. Leave the oatmeal mask on for 15 minutes or until it completely dries. Wash off with warm water.

By mixing other ingredients with oatmeal, you can get bonus benefits and deeper cleansing. You can use a paste of 1 teaspoon honey, the juice of four tomatoes, and sufficient oatmeal. Scrub on your skin and leave it for 10 minutes before washing with warm water.

A paste of 3 teaspoon yogurt, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and 2 teaspoon oatmeal will work as well. Apply all over the face the let it sit before washing off.
