This isn’t surprising really given that tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial, antiseptic, and antiviral properties which are actually quite useful especially when you are dealing with various skin conditions. Speaking of skin conditions, did you know that tea tree oil is actually useful for acne? As a matter of fact, here are a few tea tree oil recipes that have been found to be effective in making your acne disappear.

Coconut oil and tea tree oil face mask

In this recipe, you will need to mix 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil with a tablespoon of coconut oil until the consistency is the same as that of a serum. Clean your face first before applying this solution on your face evenly. Leave it on overnight. Wash your face the next day to remove the face mask. You will find that your skin will feel smoother and healthier too.

Add to cleansers or moisturizers

Well, you can also 2 drops of tea tree oil to your cleanser or moisturizer before applying on your skin. This is a good remedy if you have dry skin that is causing your skin to break out in acne because of too much oil being produced. You will need to use your cleansers or your moisturizers with tea tree oil at least twice in a day every day or every other day depending on how your skin reacts to the oil.

Tea tree oil, honey, and oatmeal face mask

For this face mask, you will need a tablespoon each of honey and tea tree oil, ¼ cup of water, and ¾ cup of oatmeal. You will need to process the oatmeal first in a blender or food processor to create flour. Transfer this into a bowl then add the water. Heat the mixture in the microwave for about a minute. Add the honey and tea tree oil after then mix. Allow the mixture to cool down for a bit before you apply on your face. Leave it on for about 15 minutes then wash off. Not only will this help remove any impurities on your skin, but it will also tighten your skin which can make your pores become smaller.

Oil and bath water

Another way that you can use tea tree oil to treat your acne woes is to add it to your bath water. You can add up to 10 drops of tea tree oil in your bath water before immersing your entire body in it so that any areas of your body that has acne will get relief. This is a great treatment if your acne is not just found on your face.

Tea tree oil scrub

Exfoliating your skin at least once a week is important to remove the dead skin cells that have accumulated on the surface of your skin. To make your own tea tree oil scrub, you will need 10 to 12 drops of tea tree oil, ½ cup of sugar, a medium sized bowl, ¼ cup of olive oil, and a tablespoon of honey. Combine all the ingredients in the bowl until you get a thick consistency. Apply the mixture on areas of your face that have acne then massage using gentle, circular motions. You should do this for 5 minutes without putting too much pressure on your skin. Wash afterwards then pat your skin dry.
