Women, read up! Did you know that there are two parts of your body that tend to age 2 to 3 years faster than the rest? They are the left breast and the right breast. That’s no joke, according to a recent study.
Actually, experts say that the breasts start to sag between 21 and 25 years of age. Shocking, right?
Fret not because it is very much possible to slow down the sagging of the breasts. No, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to pay top dollar and undergo the knife.
There are everyday habits that are known to wreak havoc to the mammary tissues, causing the breasts to head south earlier than normal, and you may be guilty of doing some of them!
Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of those breast-sagging habits:
Cigarette Smoking
If you think that your lungs are the only ones in danger due to smoking, think again. According to experts, toxins found in cigarette smoke can cause the breasts to sag.
But that’s not the only kind of aging that you can get from cigarette smoking!
Experts say that smoking damages collagen, a type of protein that gives skin its firmness. So in other words, cigarette can make the skin loose, saggy and wrinkly!
Too Much Sun
Aside from cigarette smoking, there is another thing that can speed up collagen destruction: excessive sun.
Yup, it’s not just fine lines and wrinkles that you may end up with if you don’t protect yourself from those harmful UV rays of the sun, but also saggy breasts.
In order to save your breasts from drooping, limit their exposure to the sun considerably. Wear clothes that conceal them or wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 when donning tops that reveal them.
Excessive Alcohol Intake
Doctors say that moderate amounts of alcohol can come with so many health perks. Moderate amounts mean no more than 1 glass of alcohol a day. That’s it!
If you consume more than that, then all the perks become nightmares. That includes saggy breasts.
The intake of lots of alcohol introduces loads of toxins into the body, many of which can accelerate the aging process. If you consume alcohol excessively, your breasts are just some of those that will be affected.
Lack of Exercise
Exercising makes the various muscles of the body firm, including those that help keep the breast right where they should be. That is why leading a sedentary lifestyle is something that can make the breast droop.
The key is to opt for moderate types of exercises — not too easy and not extremely demanding.
However, it’s also very important to wear sports bras each time you jog, ride a bicycle, dance or play tennis. Otherwise, the bouncing of the body can actually promote breast sagging.
Wearing the Wrong Bra
It’s not just while exercising that you should wear the right bras, but at any other given time or day.
According to experts, the use of bras that permit the breasts to move around can cause the mammary tissues and the skin that keeps them in place to become stressed. And the more stressed they are, the droopier your breast become.
Make sure that you opt for bras that fit you perfectly. It’s not just going to help slow down the aging of your breasts, but also give you a flattering figure necessary for you to feel confident.
Poor Posture
Last but not least, having a bad posture can make your breasts sag even if you’re just in your 20s or 30s. That’s just an unfortunate thing to happen!
Having a terrible posture leaves your breasts in a highly unnatural position.
Make sure that your posture is perfect no matter if you are sitting down, standing up or walking. It can take a lot of practice on your part to maintain proper posture all the time, but everything’s worth it in the end.
