Smart Beauty Hacks for Makeup Mistakes

Must read

We all make mistakes when it comes to wearing makeup regardless of whether we are just starting out working with beauty products or already a pro. This is normal as makeup products have different styles, compositions, and ingredients that have certain affects on your skin. With that being said, there are smart beauty hacks that you can try out so you will get the best results for your makeup use. Here are a few that you should try out.

Don’t test foundation on your cheeks

Keep in mind that the color of your face is different from the rest of your body because of its constant exposure to the sun or regular breakouts. This means that when you test your new foundation on your cheek, it may not look natural on your neck and chest area. With that being said, it is always a good idea to test 3 shades of foundation below your jawline then blend. The shade that disappears is what you should get.

Uneven eyeliner

You don’t have to berate yourself when you made a mistake with your eyeliner application because even the pros commit them from time to time. It’s really easy to fix this mistake. Start by dipping your pointed cotton swab in moisturizer or makeup remover then drag the swab under the line to help sharpen the eyeliner. Work slowly afterwards to get the results that you are looking for.

Don’t start with concealer

Most women make the mistake of applying concealer first before they apply foundation. This results to your concealer being erased as you apply foundation. Reverse the application by starting with the foundation first so you won’t use up too much concealer in the first place.

Too much cheek color

Well, we all make the mistake of putting too much color on our cheeks. You’ve probably said to yourself that a little more wouldn’t hurt until it did. Fortunately, you can correct this problem by using your still-damp sponge and dabbing it on your cheeks. The remaining foundation on the sponge will dampen the effects of the cheek color that you have applied and can even give that glowing finish too.

Upward application of foundation

You’re probably guilty of applying foundation in an upward stroke. It appears that most women make this error when it comes to their foundation. The problem with this application process is that it actually makes your fuzz that more visible which you are actually trying to avoid. A better method would be to pat the foundation down rather to create that airbrushed finish.

Hat hair

Wearing a hat can leave you with hat hair true, but you will only make it worse if you brush it because you are creating static. A better option would be to use a wrinkle release spray. Mist your hairbrush with it then wait until it has dried before using on your hair. You can also spray some on the inside of your hat or beanie to prevent frizzy hair when worn.

Don’t use under eye concealer on pimples

Don’t be a cheapskate when it comes to using concealers. If you think that using under eye concealer on your pimples you are not helping yourself out. Keep in mind that under eye concealers are lighter in color. Go for neutral tone when it comes to hiding your blemishes.
