Signs That You Are Feeling Overwhelmed and How to Solve It

Must read

The amount of work that we do, at home and at work, can be overwhelming at times, but since you have a goal in mind, and a family to take care of, you’re probably at the brink of being burned out. This is a common scenario in many households which can affect your personal relationships and your health too, if you don’t take care of this problem as soon as possible.

However, not all of us are aware that we are showing signs that we are being overwhelmed by everything that is going on in our lives. How then will be able to stop this issue right on its tracks? Well, here are a few signs that our work or our family or personal life is affecting us already, as well as tips on how to alleviate the problem.

Your work is starting to annoy you

Most of us start our work enthusiastically to the point that any hitch doesn’t matter to us. However, if you are starting to feel annoyed with your work load, or you are no longer interested with participating in meetings, and the like, it’s a sure sign that you are heading for a burn out. If you notice this sign already, the best step to take is to go on a leave or a vacation to help you clear your head. You will feel better when removing yourself from the source of your annoyance.

You’re not sleeping well or sleeping way too much

Another sign that you are feeling overwhelmed is when you find yourself tossing and turning in bed every night or you find yourself sleeping way too much than what you are used to. This can be a sign that there is something that is bothering you or you are heading towards depression, especially when it is the latter. If this is the case, you can start with building your bedtime routine where you power down a few hours before bedtime so that your body will be in a relaxed state already.

Work/life balance doesn’t exist

There are employers who, when they pay you a lot of money, demand a chunk of your life. Although many wouldn’t mind this, since they believe that they will be earning enough, it can take a toll on their life as well as their health too. As much as you are you dedicated to your job, if there is no outlet or any recreational activities that can distract you from your work, your performance can suffer. Keep in mind that money cannot replace your health which means that you have to find the balance between your work and your life as much as possible. This will be useful especially when you want to stay in your job while keeping your personal life intact.

You’re always anxious

If you are having bouts with anxiety attacks, you’re most like feeling overwhelmed or way too stressed about your work or your personal life. This can take a toll on your health if you do not do anything at all. Anxiety can be remedied by finding the source of your problem. Meditating or finding emotional assistance can help alleviate the problem or at least give you time to calm your mind.

Overeating or loss of appetite

When you find yourself eating way too much or not really having any interest in food, it is another sign of being overwhelmed. This can trigger weight gain or weight loss depending on the spectrum that you are on. The best way to fight this is to set up an eating routine which you should follow as much as possible.
