Cellulite usually occurs when there is an extra layer of fat underneath the skin usually located at the hips, rear abdomen, and thighs. Other terms that are associated to this skin condition is orange peel skin as well as cottage cheese skin because of the unsightly lumps that form. Women are more susceptible to cellulite because of their hormones but there are other factors that can contribute to their appearance such as dieting, obesity, and too much consumption of processed foods.
Most women turn to surgery to minimize their appearance but you don’t really have to because there are natural remedies available that can help solve this little problem of yours. If you want to get rid of cellulites without having to resort to surgery, these remedies are for you.
Tomatoes. Cellulite often appears when the collagen of our skin breaks down which means you need to find a way to prevent this from happening. Fortunately, you don’t have to look far for a solution because tomatoes can help you out. This vegetable contains high amounts of lycopene which can prevent collagen breakdown. Even tomato paste is also worth using but make sure that you use one from a jar or you can even make your own to avoid ingesting chemicals from the product.
Coffee grounds. Another home remedy for cellulite is using coffee grounds which you can use to exfoliate your skin. This helps remove any blemishes and cellulites to reveal new and healthy skin. Combine coffee grounds with coconut oil and some sugar then heat the mixture to make a paste. Once cooled, massage the paste onto the affected areas.
Salmon. To keep your body cellulite free, adding salmon to your diet is a must. This fish is loaded with antioxidants which can help break down fats to prevent them from forming into cellulites. What’s more, salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that promote skin repair and protects the body against harmful toxins. Boiled or baked salmon is worth serving during meals.
Water. No one can deny the power of water and it seems that, aside from hydrating the body, it can also help prevent cellulites from forming. A fully hydrated body won’t be susceptible to blemishes or lumps that are associated with cellulite. Aside from drinking several glasses of water per day, eating foods that are high in water content such as cucumber, melon, and the like can also keep your body hydrated and free from cellulite.
Cayenne pepper. Another trick to keeping cellulite at bay is cayenne pepper as it is a natural detoxifying agent that can prevent fat deposits from forming. Cayenne is known to help flush any toxins from the body to prevent breakdown of skin cells. To use this remedy, simply add a tablespoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of lemon juice and drink it. If you want to increase its effectiveness, add two tablespoons of ginger juice. Drink this remedy on alternate days for a month.
Apple cider vinegar. Although this treatment may not get rid of cellulite thoroughly, it can help reduce its appearance. Combine two parts water with apple cider vinegar and a bit of honey then apply the mixture on the affected areas. Rinse afterwards using warm water.
These are just a few home remedies that you can use to get rid of or at least reduce the appearance of cellulite in your body. The results may vary from one person to the next but the best part is that these remedies are safe to use and are relatively cheaper compared to getting surgery.
