Acne vulgaris also known as acne is a common skin disease experience by most human beings. It is an inflammatory problem, whereas the sebaceous glands and hair follicles become inflamed and clogged. This causes pustules or pimples on the face, back and neck. This skin problem is common during monthly periods and adolescence.

Acne scar occurs after the acne has reduced in size and lighten. The blemish happens when the pores or hair follicle becomes swollen and clogged due to dead skin cells, bacteria and excess oil. Acne scars are hard to cover up. If you want to fight acne, you also have to fight off your acne scars. Below are some natural remedies that can help lighten and remove acne scars.

Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds are one of the most common ingredients for acne and acne scar remedies. You can use fenugreek seeds in two ways. The first one is by using fresh Methi leaves or fenugreek leaves. Take your grinder and place the leaves inside. Grind it until it becomes paste-like. If you think the quantity of the paste is not enough to cover your face add a few more leaves. Apply the paste all over your face and massage it for a minute. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash it off with a mild soap and water. The
second way you can use fenugreek is to use the fenugreek seeds. Boil half a cup of water and place 2 or more tablespoons of fenugreek seeds, mix them together and leave it boiling for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the fenugreek seed and grind them into paste. Store it in a small bowl and leave it to cool down. Once it is cool enough, apply the paste on your acne scars and leave it on for about 12 to 20 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and repeat every other day.

Lemon Juice

Lemons are known to help lighten and bleach the skin. It contains a natural bleaching agent that can reduce the darkness of acne scars and other blemishes. It also contains acidic contents that can help balance the pH level of the skin, reducing oiliness and kill bacteria from seeping onto the skin. You can use lemon juice two ways. First, take some fresh lemon juice and dip a cotton swab or cotton pad in it. Apply the cotton pad on your acne scar and leave it there. Wait for the skin to absorb all the moisture from the cotton. Leave it on for a few more minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. Second way to do it is mixing fresh lemon juice with a small amount of water. Take this mixture and massage it on the face or acne scars. Let it sit for about 1 and half to two hours. Rinse it off and use a mild soap.

Rose Water & Sandal Wood

Rose Water is great for removing acne causing bacteria and nourishing the skin. Sandalwood can help reduce inflammation of the skin and has a cooling effect. Mixing these two together can be a lethal combination for acne scars. Take your sandalwood paste and rose water. Mix them together to create a paste. Apply this paste on your acne scars and leave it on overnight. Wash it off in the morning using cool water.

Olive Oil

Olive oil can help kill acne causing bacteria, remove acne scars and nourish the skin. Wash your face with lukewarm water and dry it completely. Take some olive oil and massage it on your acne scars. Leave it on for 2 hours and wash it off using a glycerin based facial wash.

Be patient with these remedies and make sure that your skin is clean. Never leave your home without any sunscreen. Sun damage can worsen the appearance of acne scars and cause irritation. Avoid touching your acne scars and wiping your face. Always use clean handkerchief or tissue when wiping your face or neck. Avoid wearing clothes that may cause abrasions, especially for your back acne.
