Armpit detoxification may raise a few eyebrows for sure but before you dismiss this as a prank, you should ask yourself how come your face and hair can be detoxified and not your armpits? We’re using various hair and skin care products in these areas that can actually build up overtime because of the chemicals they contain so why not show the same care to your armpits? After all, that anti-perspirant and deodorant that you are using are not exactly free from chemicals.
If you want to give your armpits the care they need to remove the chemicals that have seeped and clogged your pores, these remedies are worth trying out.
- Bentonite clay. One way to detox your armpits is to use bentonite clay with a few ingredients to help cleanse the area. You will need to prepare a tablespoon of bentonite clay, 1 to 2 teaspoons of water to create consistency, and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Get a glass bowl and put all the ingredients there. Mix the ingredients using a wooden spoon rather than metal spoon as the latter may cause chemical reactions. Apply the mixture on your armpits evenly and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it off as soon as you feel itchy upon application as it might be because of your sensitive skin. If you can bear the itching, continue with letting the mask sit. Yes, there will be redness in the area as there are more blood flowing in this area. You can take a shower or use lukewarm water to remove the clay. You can do this two to three times a week.
- Fresh lemon juice. Extract the juice from a lemon and dilute it in water before applying under your arms. Leave it on for 20 minutes then rinse off. Lemon contains citric acid which can eliminate the bacteria growing in this area so that your armpits will be cleansed. Another plus to this treatment is that it can remove any bad odor coming from this area of your body.
- Water. If you want to start detoxifying, you should definitely increase your intake of water. Water can help flush the toxins from your body which can help clear up your skin from any impurities such as dirt, chemicals, and even bacteria too. When you are properly hydrated, it will be difficult for germs and bacteria to form on your body like in your armpits.
- Baking soda. Another way to detoxify your armpits is to use baking soda. This ingredient is actually quite handy when it comes to skin care as it eliminate chemicals lingering in your skin as well as get rid of the smells too. Just dilute a teaspoon of baking soda in water then apply on your armpits. Leave the paste on for 20 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water or take a shower to clean your underarms.
These are just a few steps that you can take to detoxify your armpits. You will need to do this from time to time to help clear up the skin in this area of your body.
