There are days when you just feel tired to the bone and you end up with dark circles under the eyes and dull looking complexion because you haven’t gotten a proper sleep just yet. Unfortunately, the day won’t wait until you are feeling better about yourself before starting which means you have to deal with your tired looking eyes and skin as best as you can.
The good news is that you can actually create the illusion that you are not dead tired with a few makeup tricks. Here are some that will help you out.
Clean the slate. There are times when we are just too tired to go and remove all traces of makeup from our face because we are too exhausted. Unfortunately, this can have a negative effect on our skin especially the next day. The best thing to do is start with a clean slate by using a gentle cleanser to remove all traces of makeup that has been left behind the night before. Follow this up with your regular moisturizer and you’ll start to feel and look better too.
Undereye concealer. Dark circles under our eyes are not that hard to miss when we wake up in the morning which is why it is always useful to have some undereye concealer on hand. However, don’t make the mistake of using undereye concealer just below the eyes but rather apply the concealer in an inverted triangle under your eyes. This will make the surface appear even. Just choose a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone and simply apply a small amount as needed.
Tinted moisturizer works. Another makeup trick that will not make you look tired is the tinted moisturizer. This should have SPF 30 to give your skin protection against the harsh rays of the sun when you go out. One reason why tinted moisturizer is a good addition to your beauty routine is that it gives your skin that sun-kissed glow which can remove that dull looking complexion after a long and tiring night.
Highlighter for illumination. You shouldn’t forget to use a highlighter when you want to hide that dull complexion that you have because of lack of proper sleep. Applying highlighter in strategic locations based on the shape of your face can banish those shadows and blemishes so you’ll look fresh and ready for a new day.
Give color to the eyes. Another makeup trick that you should take into consideration is to add some shimmer to your eyes. No, you won’t look like a disco ball when you add shimmery eye shadow as long as you do it right. According to the experts, swipe some champagne or goldy-pink eye shadow on the inner corner of your eyes will make your eyes appear bigger and wide awake. Something that you need to appear less sleepy or tired. To complete the look, apply some nude liner on your water line and use a volumizing mascara after you have curled your lashes. You can also fill in your brows using your own brow pencil.
Dust some bronzer. Bronzer has some subtle shimmer to it which is why it is a good choice when you’re trying to banish that tired look from your face. Dust some bronzer on areas of your face that are naturally touched by the sun such as the tip of your nose, the apples of your cheeks, as well as along the hairline. Don’t forget to use a light hand when applying this makeup because too much can backfire on you.
