How to Make and Use Coffee Scrubs for Gorgeous Skin

Must read

Scrubs are one of the best methods for exfoliating your skin and although there are several pre-made concoctions already being sold today, nothing beats having to make your own scrub using natural ingredients. One popular scrub that you can actually do on your own is coffee scrub. We all know that coffee is one type of beverage that we often need to kick start our day, but did you know that you can also use it to renew and rejuvenate your dull and tired looking skin?

Here’s how to make your own coffee scrub for achieving that gorgeously, glowing skin.

Coffee grounds. The key ingredient for this body scrub is, of course, coffee. You will need three tablespoons of the coffee grounds and place them in a jar. Coffee is known to revitalize your skin while getting rid of any impurities that are left in your pores. Plus, it can actually help boost your blood flow so that you will get that natural glow to your skin.

Brown sugar. Another ingredient that you will need for your coffee scrub is brown sugar. The rough texture of the sugar can help you remove the dead skin on the surface of your skin which you need to reveal healthy new skin underneath. Add a tablespoon of raw brown sugar to your jar of coffee grounds.

Natural oil. You will need to add some natural oil to your coffee and brown sugar so that they will get mixed together properly. There are several carrier oils for you to choose from such as almond, coconut, and even olive oil depending on your preferences. Combine these three ingredients until you create a paste. Seal the container so you can use its contents on a later date.

How to use your coffee scrub:

So how exactly does your coffee scrub work? Here are a few steps for you to follow:

Clean your face. First things first, wash your face to help remove any dirt, sweat, oil, or any debris from your skin. Pat your skin dry afterwards.

Apply the scrub. Spread the coffee scrub that you have just made all over your face and massage it gently in a circular motion for a few minutes. You will feel the granules of the sugar slowly removing the accumulated dead cells on your skin. Leave the scrub on for a few minutes to let the coffee do its work.

Wipe it off. Soak a clean washcloth in a bowl of warm water and use it to wipe off the coffee scrub from your face. Be gentle when removing the scrub to avoid aggravating your skin.

Rinse your face. After you have wiped off the scrub, you will need to a final rinse using cold water. The cold temperature will help seal the pores of your skin so that there will be less oil produced while locking in the moisture on your skin.

Pat skin dry. Use a clean washcloth or towel to pat your skin dry and you are done.

Coffee scrubs are not just limited to getting rid of impurities on your face but you can also prepare different types of this scrub to address different needs such as getting rid of cellulite, alleviating puffy eyes, and the like. You will be surprised to know that there are quite a lot of coffee scrub recipes that are designed to address specific skin issues. The next time you want to make your skin look gorgeously beautiful, try making your own coffee scrub just like it was stated above.
