How to Make a Facial Spritzer That Will Wake You Up

Must read

It’s scientifically-proven that certain smells are capable of altering our mood or outlook, and it’s exactly for this reason why aromatherapy, which involves the use of essential oils for various therapeutic reasons, is highly popular. In this article, you will learn how to make a facial spritzer that can wake you up just like a cup of coffee!

Below you will find the recipe for making a facial spritzer that you can count on each time you are having a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, and also at any other time of the day when you feel stressed, exhausted and sleepy but having a siesta is simply not an option.

Don’t forget to share this article on your various social media sites after checking it out to let your family and friends who are into aromatherapy know, too, how they can whip up this revitalizing facial spritzer.

Most people brew a cup of coffee in the morning to wake them up and save them from crawling back into bed. Sadly, coffee is not for everyone. Most especially if you’re the kind of person who is sensitive to caffeine, you know very well what sort of unfavorable side effects consuming coffee can bring.

Headaches, nausea, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, tremors, nervousness — these are some of the most common side effects of caffeine. Surely, they will wake you up — but in a terrible way!

If you are avoiding coffee because of its caffeine content and you are into aromatherapy anyway, why not give some essential oils a try? It’s common knowledge that certain essential oils are very good at waking you up and getting your mind alert, and combining some of them can prove to be just as good as — or better than — having coffee.

Before you start coming up with your DIY facial spritzer that can wake you up, it’s important for you to get your hands on a small spritzer bottle, something large enough to accommodate 2 oz, of liquid.

However, don’t just go for any spritzer bottle — opt for one that’s amber in color. That’s because some of the essential oils you will use in making your revitalizing facial spritzer are sensitive to light. Exposing them to light can eventually render them powerless in waking you up.

Worry not if the only spritzer bottle that you can find is a clear one. All you have to do is wrap the bottle in contact paper or duct tape and the blend of essential oils you will place in it is already out of harm’s way.

So without any more ado, here’s the very simple recipe:

Ingredients:

4 drops of lemon essential oil

4 drops of orange essential oil

3 drops peppermint essential oil

2 drops of bergamot essential oil

2 drops of patchouli essential oil

Vodka

Directions:

-Using a small funnel, fill your spritzer bottle halfway with vodka.

-Add essential oils one by one.

-Top up with more vodka.

-Place the cap tightly and roll the spritzer bottle between your palms. Do not shake it vigorously!

You’re done! You can place this facial spritzer on your nightstand or in your bag to have easy access to it each time you need to wake up and feel energized. Just make sure that you spray it on your face with your peepers closed — the vodka as well as essential oil content can sting your eyes.

Just remember to quickly roll the spritzer bottle between your palms — shaking it is a no-no.

By the way, if you don’t want to use vodka, you may opt for witch hazel. It also offers a few skin perks such as it can shrink large pores and reduce excess oils.
