How to Feel Great Starting Today!

The holidays have already passed and now it’s the start of a new year. You may have that list of resolutions, but how can you start?

There is one thing that we all want to start this year and that is “to feel great about ourselves”. To attain it, we need a couple of things to bear in mind to motivate us. Whether its something we should do for our work, school or family, we need to have a list to start.

Here are some of the tips you can use to be healthy and productive all year round:

1. Exercise

Trying a new exercise or just starting on one? Well just do it! After the holidays, you may have gained excess pounds and have not gotten back to your exercise routine.

Now is the time to start. Exercise help your muscles and keeps the body in good shape. Thus helping to prevent your body fight diseases and boosts the immune system. It also helps in sharpening the memory.

Try switching exercises every 6 to 8 weeks, to exercise the muscles in other parts of the body. You’ll notice an immediate improvement in 4 to 6 weeks and you will be able to achieve the body shape you want.

2. Be Healthy

One of the things you need to start anew is to be healthy. Take precautions on pre-existing medical conditions you might have and remember to consult a doctor regularly.

Avoid bad habits that affect your health. Eat a well balanced-diet and know your body well.

3. Have Enough Sleep

Too much or less sleep is not advisable. Studies have shown the right amount of sleep in adults are 7-8 hours, teens need at least 9 hours, school-aged children needs at least 10 hours, preschoolers need between 11-12 hours a day and of course babies need lots of sleep, about 16-18 hours a day.

Getting the right amount of sleep makes you less prone to sickness, helps in achieving the right body weight, lowers the risk of diabetes, reduces high blood pressure, boosts brain function and influence your entire mood for the day.

4. Don’t Hold Grudges

Studies have shown that an attitude of forgiveness contributes to better cardiovascular health. Forgiveness may literally heal the heart and physically your body. While it is still unknown how forgiveness directly affects the heart, studies suggested that it may lower the perception of stress.

5. Smile

Studies suggest that smiling makes all the difference. It does not matter if you’re happy or not, your mood is elevated. So make it a habit to smile all all times. Not only that but smiling reinforces happiness, so always smile.
