Water
We are all guilty of not drinking often in a day. Unfortunately, this can affect how our skin looks like. Water not only locks in the moisture in our skin, but it also helps remove the toxins from our body by flushing them through urine. If you are not drinking enough water, your skin’s ability to go back to its natural state will be reduced hence the appearance of sagging skin, wrinkles, and the like. If you are already bored with water, fruit infused drinks can help increase the amount of water in your body still.
Vegan or vegetarian diet
For those who are starting to ditch or have already ditched their consumption of meat and animal products, and loading up on fresh vegetables and fruits, you’re on the right track of keeping your complexion healthy and glowing. This is because the vegan diet contains ingredients that are rich in antioxidants which protect the skin from cellular damage. However, you will need to add safflower as well as olive oils and even flaxseeds to your diet to get protein this is a low-fat diet.
Green tea
Switching to green tea instead of your usual lattes and other artificially sweetened drinks can have a more positive effect to your skin as this beverage is high in antioxidants which not only protects your skin from the harsh rays of the sun, but it can also reduce any inflammation in your skin too, especially the ones that are causing breakouts in the first place.
High-protein, low-carb diet
Following a diet that is high in protein but low in carbohydrates can reduce the amount of cortisol that is being produced in the body. Cutting back on foods such as pasta, white bread, and refined sugar can minimize breakouts, and provide support to retaining beautiful looking skin. Of course, consuming too much meat can also have some side effects such as preventing your cells from regenerating properly.
As you can see, what you eat can play a part on the quality and overall health of your skin. Sticking with foods that are rich in carbs, fats, and sugar, can make your skin breakout because of inflammation which we can actually avoid if we only know what to eat.
