Must read

Everyone wants to look their best starting from their head all the way to their toes but there are those whose nails tend to be brittle regardless of how well they maintain their length. Men and women can have brittle nails which can easily crack or break. There are many factors that can lead to brittle nails such as constant exposure to water, nail polish, and even certain types of diseases like hyperthyroidism, anemia, and eczema just to name a few. Fortunately, there are various remedies on hand that can help make your nails stronger in no time.

Apple cider vinegar. When it comes to brittle nails, apple cider vinegar is a good remedy to try as it is loaded with nutrients like potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron all of which are essential to nail health. What’s more, apple cider vinegar contains acetic and malic acid which can kill off any nail fungus or bacteria. You just need to mix equal amounts of water and raw apple cider vinegar in a small bowl and soak your nails in it for a few minutes. Push the cuticles downward immediately. Do this once in a day for a few days to help make your nails become stronger.

Coconut oil. This is another remedy that is suited for strengthening your nails as it contains saturated fat which can prevent nail infection from occurring while at the same time moisturizing your nails. Apply some lukewarm coconut oil on your nails then massage gently for five minutes. This can boost blood circulation in your nail bed.

This will help give moisture back to your nails to help make it go stronger.

Tea tree oil. If your brittle nails are due to nail fungus, the best solution for this is tea tree oil. Since this oil is known for its antiseptic properties, you can use it to get rid of the bacteria lying underneath your nails. Another plus to tea tree oil is that it can help treat discoloured nails. For this mixture you will need to combine half a teaspoon of vitamin E oil with a few drops of tea tree oil. Rub the mixture on your nails and gently massage them for a few minutes. Let the solution set for 30 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water. You should pat dry afterwards before applying moisturizer to prevent dryness. You should follow this treatment twice a day for the entire month.

Tomatoes. Tomatoes are not only delicious to eat but they can also help save your brittle nails. This vegetable contains biotin which can make your nails stronger and thicker.
