Face Redness Treatment

Must read

Face redness affects a lot of people and not just those who suffer from acne breakouts. Those who blush easily, suffering from eczema or rosacea, have to deal with redness on their face from time to time. This can hurt their self-confidence especially when their condition flares up unexpectedly but the good news is that there are steps that can be taken to reduce the redness on the face.

Here are some home remedies that can help.

Follow an anti-redness diet. Sometimes, the redness on the face can be alleviated if you follow a diet that prevents inflammation. Think of eating foods that can cool you down like cucumber, apple, spinach, papaya, and coconut just to name a few. The main goal of this diet is to remove any trigger foods like spicy dishes because they can cause flare ups to occur. It would be helpful too if you add some probiotics and fish oil supplements into the mix because they can reduce any inflammation in your body thus reducing redness on the face.

Face mask. Another possible remedy to reduce face redness is to make a face mask that will soothe your skin. To make a homemade face mask, you should prepare ½ to 1 cup of oats and water. Add the water to the oats to create a paste and apply afterwards on your face and neck. Leave this face mask on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water. You should repeat this treatment three to four time a week to reduce the redness.

Cucumber mask. Aside from oats, you can also use some cucumber to create a face mask that will help alleviate the redness on your face. Although studies are still being conducted on the efficacy of cucumber with dealing with face redness, many people swear by it. You can either slice a few pieces of cucumber and apply them on your face, or grate them and use the shreds as a face mask. You can pop the cucumber in the fridge to cool it further for added relief to your skin.

Coconut oil. Face redness can also be treated with the help of coconut oil. Just add a few drops of coconut oil on the affected areas and massage for a few minutes then leave it on overnight. This will help your skin absorb it better. What’s great about coconut oil is that it has a moisturizing effect on the skin. It also prevents dryness and can help tighten your skin which can reduce the redness of your skin. You can use this treatment both day and night on a daily basis to alleviate the inflammation.

Manuka honey. One of the best treatments that can help reduce the redness of your face is Manuka honey. This particular honey comes from New Zealand where the bees get their food from the Manuka tree’s flowers. What makes this treatment efficient is that this honey contains high amounts of antioxidants not to mention it has both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties both of which are important in dealing with redness on your skin. Also, the Manuka honey can keep your skin properly moisturized to prevent dryness and itching too. You can apply the honey directly on your skin on a daily basis to deal with the redness.
