Face Masks Perfect for Teens

Must read

Teens are already at the age where they are becoming aware of how they look. Every single pimple, blemish, or skin issue that they see can be blown out of proportion which is why it is always a good idea to show them how they can take care of their skin through face masks. Face masks are designed to remove any blockages on the pores of the skin so there will be less inflammation, pus filled bumps, and even dark spots. There are premade masks being sold today but you can make your own too if you like. Here are are some homemade face masks that you can prepare for your teen.

For dark spots

Popping pimples can leave some dark spots which can be unsightly. If your teen keeps on doing this, you need to tell them that it is unhygienic and that they will be left with scars and dark spots. And to add insult to injury, when these dark spots are exposed to the sun, they can become darker too. Applying sunscreen can help but so is making a face mask that is made from 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and a tablespoon of baking soda. There will be a slight fizz when you mix the two but it will dissipate. Mix until you create a paste then apply on the affected areas. Rinse it off afterwards using warm water.

For brightening the skin

Another face mask that you can prepare is this strawberry face mask that not only brightens the skin but it can also cleanse and tighten your skin. For this face mask, you will need ¼ cup mashed strawberries, 3 tablespoons of yogurt, and a tablespoon of rice powder. All that you have to do is to mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl then spread it evenly on the face. Leave it on for about 20 minutes then wash off with cool water.

For acne

Acne is bound to occur during adolescence and to stem many moans of despair from your teenager, this face mask may help alleviate the problem. You will need 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, a teaspoon of lemon juice, a cup of water, and a tablespoon of honey, preferably Manuka honey. Manuka honey comes from New Zealand and is the best organic honey of today. You will need to prepare half a cup of water with oatmeal on your stovetop on low heat. Let it cool for a bit before adding lemon juice and Manuka honey. Mix everything up then apply on your skin. You need to do this once a week.

For soft skin

If you want your teen to have smooth and supple skin, whipping up an avocado face mask is highly recommended. In this recipe, you will need to prepare 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, one mango, mashed, and 2 tablespoons of avocado. Put all the ingredients in a small bowl then mix thoroughly. Apply the face mask evenly on the skin and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash afterwards.

For firm skin

Who doesn’t want to have younger looking skin? Teens will find that making a coffee face mask is going to be good for their skin. All that you have to do is to mix 2 tablespoons each of coffee and honey. You can use powdered coffee or grind coffee beans until they become in powder form before mixing in the honey. It’s going to be hard at first but keep mixing until everything has been blended. You can add more honey if you like until you achieve the desired texture. Apply evenly then rinse after a few minutes.
