We can’t help but feel envious of women who have managed to perfect the art of wearing makeup. They seem very much put together and often times we feel that we can’t even match their lovely looks. But this is not something to worry about as we all need to start somewhere when it comes to wearing makeup. Also, with the number of makeup products being sold today, it is not really surprising that we get confused on what to purchase. Fortunately, there are several tips which can help you get your makeup done correctly even when you are just a beginner.
Here are some to get you started.
Opt for fewer high-quality makeup tools that have multiple uses. The act of buying makeup brushes can be daunting and can come at a high price at times. But a good rule thumb if you are just starting out is to invest on brushes that you can use for different tasks. Makeup experts recommend that you get a beauty blender, angled brow brush, blending brush, large angled contour brush, and multitasking brush as part of your makeup kit.
Learn how to use eyebrow pencil. Using an eyebrow pencil can help add more definition to your eyebrows. To start, line the edge of your brow using an eyebrow pencil that is one shade lighter than the color of your eyebrows. Shade the rest of your brow but don’t draw too close to the top edge as it might give your eyebrows that square look. Blend everything using a spoolie brush to create an even look.
Eye primer is helpful. Another makeup tip that you should take into account if you want to perfect your skill is to use an eye primer before you apply eye shadow or eyeliner. This prevents smudging and fading so you won’t have to re-apply makeup every now and then.
Perfecting eyeshadow application. First thing you should do when applying eyeshadow is to start with the base. You might want to try the nude, iridescent eyeshadow and apply it all over your eyelids starting from the lash line and blending it all the way to your brow bone. Use a tapered brush for even application. Add definition to the crease of your eyes by swirling your brush on brown eyeshadow that is a few shades darker than your natural skin tone. Make sure that you blend it into the outer V of your eyes. Darken the V afterwards by applying a darker eyeshadow. Again, don’t forget to blend everything.
Lighten your concealer. There are some instances when your concealer feels a bit heavy on your skin. Fortunately, you can ligthen it up by mixing a small amount of sunscreen or moisturizer before applying on problem areas. This way, you won’t have to worry about adding more heaviness on your skin.
Liquid eyeliner tricks. If you are not a fan of eyeliners or you want to try a more dramatic look, the liquid eyeliner is worth trying out. Start by drawing the wing. The first line should always follow the slope of your eyes to make it more natural. Line your eyes starting from the inner corner of the eyes and then tracing your lash lines using short but even strokes. Connect the lines of your eyeliner.Â
These are just a few tips and tricks that can help you apply makeup in a much better way. Of course, you should keep practicing as much as possible until your wrists and fingers learn the proper strokes for a more professional finish.
