Must read

There is no doubt that the beauty industry is booming nowadays with more and more people watching out for the latest trend in fashion, beauty, hairstyles, and the like. With regards to hair, cutting, perming, straightening, and what not are no longer the in thing nowadays. What most people are hooked to recently is hair toning.

What is hair toning anyway? This is basically a grooming treatment that can make your hair glossier and healthier too. Those who have color treated hair often use hair toners to make it shine naturally and even enhance the highlights on your hair too. Hair toning services are offered in salons, yes, but they can cost you some money too. Fortunately, you don’t have to spend a lot on this hair treatment because you can make them at home. Here are a few recipes that you can try out.

Apple cider vinegar toner

In this recipe, you only need two ingredients and these are water and apple cider vinegar. You should condition your hair first then wash it off thoroughly. Now prepare a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar based on the length of your hair then apply it. Give your hair a good massage to help the scalp and hair absorb the solution then rinse thoroughly using warm water. Don’t worry, the smell of vinegar will disappear once your hair is dry.

Baking soda shampoo

For this hair toner, you will need a sulfate-free shampo, 2 drops of purple food color, 2 drops of blue food color, and a teaspoon of baking soda. Prepare a jug where you can combine all the ingredients plus a few tablespoons of water. Put it aside then rinse your hair. Once you have washed your hair, apply the mixture of shampoo that you have just prepared to wash your hair. Leave it for about 5 to 10 minutes then rinse thoroughly. Use a conditioner afterwards. This treatment should be done only once a week to help make your hair look great.

Hair dye toner

You will need a conditioner and semi permanent hair dye for this recipe. This is a great solution to use if you bleached your hair lately and did not like the result. To use this hair toner, you will need a handful conditioner then mix a small amount of semi-permanent hair dye then mix the two thoroughly. Apply this on your hair, focusing on areas such as the crown and the ends. Leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes to help balance your hair. You will see that your hair looks less damaged afterwards.

Lemon toner

Another recipe that you can use to help with your hair requires ¼ cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of honey, ¾ cup of water, and spray bottle. Pour all the ingredients inside the spray bottle then shake until everything is combined together. Now spray it on your hair without saturating your scalp too much. Leave the solution on your hair for 2 hours. Go outside and let the sun in on your scalp for about half an hour within the 2 hours. Rinse it off afterwards using a sulfate-free shampoo as well as condition your hair afterwards.

These DIY hair toners are perfect for those days when you want to adjust your hair’s color. They’re easy to do and they will help make your hair look better too. Not bad, right? Just make sure that you don’t use them regularly otherwise it will dry your hair.
