It may sound like both cold and hot infusion methods are complicated, but they’re not! You won’t need any special piece of equipment or ingredient to make coffee oil no matter which approach you choose.
But before we take a look at both methods for making DIY coffee oil, let’s first take a quick look at the reason why coffee oil is very good at stimulating hair growth.
Everyone knows that coffee has caffeine in it, and we are all aware that caffeine is a stimulant. Other than exciting the nervous system, caffeine also boosts blood circulation. It’s because of this effect of caffeine why coffee oil can be used for growing your hair longer at an undeniably accelerated pace!
With the blood circulation boosted, hair follicles in the scalp are supplied with more nutrients and oxygen. Similarly, the removal of toxins that can slow down hair growth is also improved.
Now that you know how coffee oil can stimulate hair growth, it’s time to check out the steps to making it:
Cold Infusion Method
-Reach for a glass jar that is large enough to accommodate 2 cups of liquid. Make sure that it has a cover.
-Pour 1 cup of olive oil or coconut oil in the glass jar. Add 3/4 cup of coffee grounds to it.
-Cover of the glass jar and shake very well.
-Place the glass jar in a cool and dry place in your kitchen for 3 to 4 weeks.
-Make sure that you give the glass jar a shake every single day.
-After 3 to 4 weeks, line a strainer with coffee filter or a piece of cheesecloth folded up to 4 times.
-With the help of the strainer, pour the contents of the glass jar to another glass jar with a cover.
Hot Infusion Method
-In a small saucepan, place 10 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil.
-Add 5 tablespoons of coffee grounds.
-Switch on the stove. Use low heat to heat up the mixture for 30 minutes.
-Stir the mixture occasionally to keep the coffee grounds from burning.
-After 30 minutes, switch off the stove and allow the mixture to cool completely.
-Line a strainer with coffee filter or a piece of cheesecloth folded up to 4 times.
-With the help of the funnel, pour the contents of the saucepan to a glass jar with a cover.
To use your DIY coffee oil for longer hair, massage a small amount of it on your scalp about an hour before you shampoo. Also, you may place a couple of drops of it to your favorite shampoo.
