Rubbing or Brushing Your Face Too Hard

If you tend to be in a hurry, our first instinct is to just slather everything on our face as fast as possible. With speed, there is also added pressure. We tend to apply our makeup or skin care products a lot harder when we are in a hurry. This constant pressure on your face can lose the elasticity of your skin and can lead to premature aging. If there is an indentation when you brush your face or apply skin care products, this is a sign that you are pressing down too hard. If this has become a constant habit and hard to remove. Use upward motions when applying anything. This will help firm up the skin even with the pressure. When applying anything on your face make sure that your brush or fingers don’t dig deep into the skin and the hands should be light.

Not Applying Sunscreen

We tend to skip applying our sunscreen when we feel like we won’t expose ourselves to too much sunlight. Though, it has been proven that we have to wear sunscreen all the time. This can reduce the chances of getting life threatening skin cancer. Besides this convincing benefit, it can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Even a little bit of sun exposure can cause the skin to lose moisture and elasticity. Wearing at least SPF 15 every day, though the year can help protect the skin from any unwanted wrinkles caused by sun damage. Always wear your sunscreen!

Cleansing Only

Most makeup now a day contains ingredients that require more than a simple cleansing foam to remove. There are certain ingredients that can dig deep through the pores and would require makeup remover to completely eliminate from the skin. The excess makeup on your skin can cause clogs in your pores that can lead to breakouts. Not only this, but as you sleep this left over product can accumulate pollutants and can transfer to your pillowcase. These pollutants can speed up the aging process. The clog pores won’t be able to regenerate overnight and this will reduce the collagen in the skin. Every time you wear makeup make sure that you use a makeup remover to help make sure that the skin is completely clean.

Exfoliating Too Much

Exfoliating is great on the skin, it can help remove debris, excess oil, dead skin cells and dirt. We need to exfoliate our skin regularly to keep the light skin and prevent breakouts. Exfoliating can also help make the skin more radiant and supple. However, not all skin types require regular exfoliation. People that have dry skin require less exfoliation since this can dry out the skin and reduce the nutrients in the skin. Dry skin is more prone to wrinkles and pre -mature aging. People with oily skin can exfoliate their skin at maximum of two times a week.

Hot Showers

Nothing is more relaxing than a long hot shower after a long tiring day. However, this habit can be causing your skin to wrinkle up. The hot water can reduce the natural oils on the skin that can reduce the protective barrier. The less natural oils, the more prone we are to wrinkles. The longer you are in the shower the more moisture you lose in your skin and hair. It’s best to opt for a long lukewarm shower. This is a lot better for your skin and hair.
