Wearing makeup can be considered as an art with your face as a blank canvas that can be painted on to reveal your best assets. Although many of us can be considered as experienced when it comes to applying makeup, many of us are still amateurs. Fortunately, there are a few tricks that you can take advantage of that can help you pull off applying and wearing the perfect makeup.
Do you want to know what these steps are? Here are some to get you started.
Make the dark circles disappear. The first thing that you need to do before you apply any makeup is to apply a moisturizer first with SPF. Use a concealer to hide blemishes including the dark circles under your eyes. Choose a creamy formula for your skin and make sure that it is the same shade as your skin tone. Don’t get a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin as it will stand out. Use a pointed concealer brush to apply it under the eyes then use your ring finger to spread it out evenly.
Apply the base foundation. After applying your concealer, the next step would be to use a foundation to be the base for your makeup. Choose a foundation stick so that it will be easier for you to apply it evenly. Use your foundation stick as you would a marker by drawing thick lines down the bridge of your nose, your cheekbones, and above your brows. Blend using your fingers. If you want to get that added glow on your skin, draw on the same areas using a foundation stick that is one shade darker than your skin tone. Blend the two evenly for a more natural glow.
Choose the right type of blush. There are many factors that you need to take into account when it comes to blush. First, you will need to choose the right type based on your skin. If you have oily skin, choose powder blush so it won’t melt easily. Older or dry skin will find cream or liquid blush to be ideal for their skin. Second, you should choose a color that is appropriate for your skin tone. Pale and coral blushes are good for those with pale skin, while rose or apricot are for those with medium skin tone. Red and plum are perfect for those with dark skin.
Lipstick. Another step to consider is when applying lipstick. Start in the center of your upper lip and lower lip. Draw from the corner of your upper lip towards the center and repeat in the other side. Do the same thing with your lower lip starting at the corner towards the center. Do the same with the other side of your lips. To give your lips a more defined look, use a lip liner that is one shade darker than your lips and draw an outline. Make sure that you stay within these lines when applying lipstick.
Get smart with eyeshadow. Smoky eyes can lend a dramatic flair to your eyes so if you want to pull this off, start by applying the base shadow on the lid as well as above the socket crease. Blend it out slightly towards your eyebrows. The mid color eye shadow should be applied along the base of the eyelid above the lashes and into the crease of the eye socket while looping around the outer corner of the eyes. Use an angled brush to apply the darkest eye shadow that you have on the edge of your lash going across the outer corner of the eye. Blend the colors using a soft brush. Complete the look by applying eye liner on the upper and lower lash line.
