Get to Know the Hidden Causes of Fatigue

Must read

Do you feel mentally drained and physically exhausted and you don’t know why? This article is written exclusively for you — below you will come across some of the hidden causes of fatigue.

Before you proceed, let’s get one thing straight: none of the pieces of information below should be mistaken for as medical advice. Needless to say, checking out this article is not an alternative to stepping foot inside a doctor’s office in order for you to get checked.

Got family members and friends who constantly complain about fatigue, then don’t forget to repost this later on so that they, too, may learn that their fatigue can be brought about by the following:

Dehydration

Something as simple as failure to drink plenty of water is enough to leave you feeling weary mentally and physically. This is most especially true if you have lost a lot of fluids because of excessive sweating due to the blistering-hot weather or an intense workout session.

If you suspect that dehydration is the one to blame for your fatigue, drink a tall glass of water — if the tiredness goes away after a few minutes, then you can put the blame on not consuming enough O2.

Too Much Sugar

Everyone knows that you can end up hyper if you consume lots and lots of sugar. Did you know that it can also leave you fatigued after some time? It’s for the fact that the energy-giving properties of sugar does not last for a long time.

Rather than load up on sugar in order to feel energized, it’s a much better idea for you to consume something that’s loaded with whole carbs such as oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes and legumes.

Skipping Breakfast

Perhaps you have heard or read time and again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day especially for individuals who like to slim down. Well, having breakfast is also very important for people who are in need of energy throughout the day.

To keep fatigue at bay especially even before you hit the middle of the day, see to it that you have your breakfast. But don’t just have any breakfast — opt for something that supplies your body with healthy carbs, protein and fat.

A Sedentary Life

If what you want is an unlimited supply of energy that your mind and body can use, consider being physically active. In order for your body to provide you with energy, you have to expend energy in the form of physical activity.

This is exactly the reason why people who exercise on a regular basis tend to have lots and lots of energy. On the other hand, those who spend most of their waking hours seated in front of the TV or computer tend to have very little or no energy left in their bodies.

Lack of Sleep

It’s common knowledge that it is while you are taking a trip to dreamland when your mind and body are deeply repaired. Needless to say, getting 7 to 9 hours of restorative sleep allows you to be revitalized mentally and physically.

Failure to get a good night’s sleep deprives both your mind and body of the opportunity to get rested and restored. What’s more, lack of sleep can cause you to crave lots of sugar and also steer clear of working out. Just like what’s mentioned earlier, too much sugar and no exercise can cause fatigue.

In some instances, fatigue can be blamed on an underlying medical condition. It may be something that’s psychological such as anxiety and depression, or something that’s physiological like in the case of anemia, hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia. In any case, it is a good idea for you to approach a doctor if it seems like you are constantly fatigued and you cannot find a reason for such. Having the underlying medical cause identified and treated can help reinstate normal mental and physical vigor.
