DIY Body Scrubs that Will Make Your Skin Glow

Must read

Most of us don’t really have the time to take care of our skin what with our busy schedule on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes, we even forget to remove our makeup before flopping on our bed because we are dead tired with all the work we have done for the day. Unfortunately, this leads to dull and dry looking skin which can age you significantly. Fortunately, you can make your skin glow using body scrubs such as the ones below.

Sea Salts Body Scrub

In this recipe, you will need ½ cup of olive oil, a cup of sea salt, and 5 to 15 drops of your choice of essential oil. Get a bowl then combine all the ingredients until you create a paste. Set it aside. Now you will need to wash and clean your face before applying the mixture. Use your fingers to massage your skin with this paste. Do it in circular motions. You should spend 1 to 2 minutes of gentle massage for each part of your body to exfoliate everything. Wash your body afterwards and apply moisturizer.

Banana Sugar Body Scrub

You will need ¼ cup of coconut butter, ¼ cup of shea butter, one ripe mashed banana, ¼ cup of coconut oil, ¼ cup of apricot, and a cup of raw sugar. Put your coconut oil, apricot, coconut butter, shea butter, and ripe mashed banana in a blender. Blend them all until smooth. Add a cup of sugar, raw sugar if you can, and use it as a scrub for your body. This body scrub can actually last up to 48 hours in your fridge. All that you have to do is to massage the mixture on your body gently then wash off afterwards.

Oatmeal Body Scrub

Oatmeal is a good source of fiber in the morning but there is more to this food than just filling your belly up. As a matter of fact, you can use it as part of your body scrub regimen. In this recipe, you will need half a cup of uncooked oatmeal, half a cup of raw honey, 2 drops of lavender essential oil, 4 drops of frankincense essential oil, half a cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup of jojoba oil, and 4 drops of geranium essential oil. The dry ingredients need to be grinded first to get a fine powder before mixing in the liquids. Combine the other ingredients too until you create a coarse paste. You will need to cleanse your skin first before you can apply the paste. Massage the paste on your skin in gentle, circular motions until you cover your entire body. Rinse afterwards. Don’t forget to apply moisturizer.

Vanilla Sugar Body Scrub

In this recipe, you will need 2 ½ cups of raw sugar, ¾ cup of white granulated sugar, 4 tablespoons of vanilla extract, and ¼ cup of almond oil. This is a fairly straightforward body scrub where you simply combine the two sugar in a bowl before adding the vanilla extract and almond oil. If you have sensitive skin, you will find this body scrub to be useful as it won’t cause any breakouts or irritation.

Yogurt Body Scrub

Another recipe to try for your skin, you will need a tablespoon of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of honey, ¼ cup of olive oil, and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix everything until you get a coarse paste. Gently massage the scrub on clean skin to remove dead skin cells. You should do this for 5 to 10 minutes for your entire body. Wash afterwards.
