Pimples turn red because your body is trying to fight off an infection. While that’s a good thing because it is a telltale sign that your immune system is doing its job, having red pimples can greatly diminish your self-confidence.

Squeezing or popping them is a complete no-no because it will only make matters worse!

Fortunately, there is no need for you to lock yourself up in your room because it’s actually very easy to make the redness of your pimples go away quickly. No, you don’t have to avail of some expensive beauty products or services. What you need to do is see which of the following can really help in making your red pimples less noticeable:

Ice Cubes

Applying cold compress helps shrink the blood vessels, which is a perfectly normal occurrence as your body tries to deal with an infection. It’s for this reason why ice cubes can make those red pimples of yours go away in an instant.

However, it’s not a good idea to apply ice cubes directly on your skin. Instead of providing relief from red pimples, it can actually make matters worse! What you need to do is wrap ice cubes with a small piece of cloth and gently press on problem areas. Do it correctly and that redness that’s bugging you will go away.

Powdered Aspirin

If you’re not allergic to aspirin, then you may employ this very common reliever of pain and fever in making the redness of your pimples disappear, allowing you to win back your self-confidence.

Grab a tablet or two of aspirin, depending on how many red pimples you need to zap. With the aid of a mortar and pestle, turn aspirin into fine powder. Add a few drops of water and mix very well. Daub the resulting white paste on each and every red pimple. After 15 to 20 minutes, rinse off with cold water and pat dry your face.

Baking Soda

Worry not if there is no bottle of aspirin in the medicine cabinet because a member of the family has an allergy to it. That’s because you may opt for baking soda instead in making a red pimple-busting paste.

Add a few drops of water to about a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix very well to come up with a paste. Apply the resulting paste on those red pimples. Allow it to stay in place for up to half an hour to give baking soda plenty of time to do its job. Wash off with cold water and marvel at how less visible your pimples are!

Green Tea

Drinking green tea is good for warding off pimples as it’s loaded with antioxidants. But did you know that you may also use this healthy beverage topically to make your pimples less red in color?

To get started, brew yourself a cup of green tea. Place a spoon or two in a small bowl and allow it to cool for a while. Feel free to enjoy the remaining green tea. Once cool, use a cotton swab to daub it on those trouble sports. Apply some more when already dry for best results. Wash your face with cold water, pat dry and put a smile on your face.

Cucumber Slices

Everyone knows that cucumber slices are great for making those puffy eyes go away. However, not everyone knows that they may also be employed for diminishing the redness of pimples.

What you need to do is make very thin slices of cucumber. Stash them in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Once chilled, place them neatly on those red pimples that are bugging you. Let them stay there for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they’re already at room temperature. Wash your face with water thoroughly afterwards.
