Most of us will just grab the first one that we see and assume that it’s good for us until we notice that our skin starts to dry up and acne keeps breaking out. What are we to do then?

Since our skin is the largest organ in our body, it is only right that we learn how to take care of it properly. With that being said, using facial washes that are made from chemicals is not the right way to because it can affect our skin. One way to cleanse your face then is to make your own face wash using natural ingredients. Sounds good? Well, here are some homemade face wash recipes for you to try.

Coconut oil and honey. Having sensitive skin makes it doubly hard to find an appropriate face wash which is why you can save yourself from all the trouble by making your own. The combination of coconut oil and honey is as delicate as your skin which makes it a good choice for cleaning your face. For this recipe, you will need 3 tablespoosn of organic extra virgin coconut oil to remove traces of makeup while moisturizing and prevents skin from aging, a teaspoon of baking soda to gently exfoliate the skin, a teaspoon of raw honey to get rid of bacteria and heal the skin, and a small container with lid. Put the coconut oil in a small bowl and stir with warm spoon until it becomes creamy. Add the honey and stir it in thoroughly. Add the baking soda afterwards. Transfer the mixture into the container and store in room temperature. To use this face wash, scoop a small amount of the mixture and apply on your face and neck. Massage gently to exfoliate the skin then wash it off with warm water. Towel yourself dry.

Chamomile and oat. The combination of chamomile and oat will leave your skin feeling smooth and soft. For this face wash recipe you will need some ground oats, chamomile, and bentonite clay. Ground oats is the main ingredient in this recipe as it is known to draw out impurities from your skin without causing damage like scrubs can do. Chamomile, on the other hand, is known to soothe the skin. This is particularly useful for those with dry and irritated skin while bentonite clay can remove any toxins that are lingering in the pores. First, you should grind the oats in a grinder until you get a fine powder. Transfer it to a small bowl. Add 1 teaspoonof the oat powder along with the contents of the chamomile tea bag then grind until the chamomile becomse into fine powder, transfer it afterwards to the bowl. Stir the oats, chamomile, and bentonite clay then transfer to a container. Wet face using warm water then get a small amount of the mixture on the palm of your hand and add a few drops of warm water. Mix until you create a paste then apply on your face and neck while massaging gently. Rinse afterwards with warm water.

Honey and lemon. If you are looking for a simple face wash to regulate your oily skin, mix some raw honey with freshly squeezed lemon juice. You just need to juice half a lemon in a small bowl then add a tablespoon of honey it in. Add some warm water into the honey and lemon and mix thoroughly. Apply the solution on your face and neck then rinse with warm water. Pat your face dry.
