Curling Iron Tips for Easy Curls

Must read

Adding more volume to your hair can create the illusion that you have thicker hair. This comes in handy for women with thin hair. But the problem that many of us have is that we are not really sure on how the curling iron works so we tend to end up with less volume and funny looking curls that we’re better off without.

The good news is that you don’t really have to dread using your curling iron because it is possible for you to achieve those beautiful curls without having to go to the stylist. You just need to follow these tips to get the most out of your curling iron.

Know your curling irons. It is important for you to take note that not all curling irons are the same. Each type of curling iron has its own specific result so you might want ot consider this the next time you  are out shopping for a curling iron.

How you wrap your hair in curling iron makes a difference. It’s easy to assume that all curls will be the same when you’re using your curling iron. However, this is not always true. As a matter of fact, how you wrap your hair in the curling wand plays a huge difference on the results. There are three easy curls that you can do today. There is the Spiral Wrap to get a twisted curl, the Flat Wrap to achieve those Shirley Temple curls, and, if you are going to combine the two in a single section of your hair, you can get a textured wave or the hairstyles most Victoria Secret angels are wearing on the runway.

Create messy waves. Short haired women can still create waves with their hair with the help of the curling iron. For this hairstyle, you will need a curling iron with barrel size ranging from ¾” to ½”. Start at the back of your head with your wand at a downwards position, wrap a small portion of your hair around it and curl for a few seconds. Make sure that you change directions when curling the rest of your hair. Don’t forget to always start at the back of the head and curl each section the way you want to. You should also curl the undersides but be careful as you might burn yourself. Rub some wax on your fingers and run them through your hair, focusing on the ends of the curls. Back comb the rest of your hair and use hairspray to hold the waves in place.

Achieve second day curls on your first day. There are times when the second day curls look much better compared to the curls on their first day. If you want to copy this look, you will need to start with freshly washed hair. Divide your hair afterwards into sections then clamp a small curling iron on the ends then roll it up. Make sure that your hair is a bit damp when curling it to make the curls last longer. Pull at the curling iron without removing its hold on your hair. Leave your hair flowing to air dry. Run your fingers through your curls afterwards to achieve the best waves for your hair.
