Korean Hair Regimen

Must read

We are all obsessed with how our skin should look that we tend to forget about our hair. Waking up to hair that has split ends or dull-looking hair is not really going to do you any good especially when you want to look your best. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have any hair care regimen in place because we are far too busy to think about anyway. The good news is that there are some hair care routines that are worth following such as in the case of the Koreans who are quite known for their beautiful looking skin and long and shiny hair.  Wonder how they achieve such feat with their hair?

These are just a few steps that they are following for their hair care.

Scalp Treatment. Every Korean hair care routine begins with a scalp treatment at least once or twice a week. According to Korean hair experts, maintaining a healthy and clean scalp can promote growing strong and healthy hair. Most Koreans use a scalp scaler to help exfoliate the scalp in order to get rid of dead skin cells, dirt, debris, and even product build up. You will need to divide your hair into sections before applying this product before massaging it on your head so that your entire scalp is covered. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing with shampoo and conditioner.

Hair Brush. There is a common misconception that all combs and brushes are the same. Well, they’re not. You’re probably wondering why there are so many varieties of combs and brushes being sold today. The thing is, each type has a specific purpose. A wide-toothed comb is ideal for those with thick hair to avoid causing tangles. Brushes help with creating or maintaining waves and so on.

Scalp Massage. Shampooing can help clean your hair of the dirt and dust that you’ve absorbed outside but adding a scalp massage in your routine can actually be good for your hair. Scalp massage can stimulate your scalp and boost blood circulation, increase lather in your shampoo, and thoroughly cleanses your scalp of anything that can block the pores.

Egg White. You’ve probably come across DIY face masks where egg whites are often used to tighten the pores of the skin to reduce oil production but have you considered using this on your hair? Koreans use egg whites on their hair too to reduce the greasy feeling. It’s really simple to use this hair mask. Simply separate the egg whites from the yolk, whisk the egg whites until they become foamy and apply on your hair and scalp. Leave it on for a few minutes then rinse afterwards with cool water.

Condition. A lot of people use conditioner as they would their shampoo, apply then rinse immediately. Unfortunately, you’re not letting this hair product do its work. Conditioners are meant to condition the hair and scalp so that they will become smooth, tangle-free, and healthy. When conditioning your hair, make sure that you use the same brand as your shampoo because they are formulated to work hand in hand. Leave the conditioner on longer to get the best results.

Eat Right. Another step to Korean hair regimen is to eat healthy. Koreans follow a healthy diet all the time which is one of the reasons why they have blemish-free skin and beautiful and healthy looking hair all the time. Time to shake up your meals a little bit by adding healthier food options that are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. You’ll see a significant improvement on your hair in no time.
