6 Holiday Beauty Hacks to Try

Must read

The holiday season is just around the corner and with it comes our never-ending list of chores and errands to do. This can actually cramp our style since we no longer have the luxury of spending too much time doing our makeup or even get a replacement for the products that you are missing out on. But short of being exasperated with the lack of tools, products, and of course, time, try these holiday beauty hacks that can save you a lot of time and money too for that matter.

Contour with fork

If you want to try some contouring tricks but don’t know where to begin, why not get a fork to get started? Using a fork to contour your nose is a handy trick to learn as it helps get the shadow straight down your nose. All that you have to do is place the fork against your nose then swipe the bronzer between the outer prongs of the fork.

Simple smoky eye look

Since the holidays mean going from one party to the next, you probably need to redefine your look from time to time so you won’t look the same in all of your pictures. But hey, since you don’t have the time to really sit down and spend half an hour doing your makeup ritual, the simplest tricks are worth learning such as getting that smoky eye look in just a few seconds. What you need is a shimmer shadow and a pointed shadow brush. Close your eyes and run your pointed shadow brush between your closed lids after dipping it in your shimmer shadow and voila! Open your eyes and blend the shimmer shadow on the upper and lower lids and you are done.

Brush your lips

You can save tons of money by ditching lip plumping products and lip scrubs for a very cool trick. After brushing your teeth, apply some lip balm on your lips then brush lightly with your toothbrush. This will help remove the dead skin on your lips while stimulating blood flow to give your lips that nice pucker and natural reddish hue.

Tight-line your eyeliner

You can make your eyelashes appear fuller without the need to wear a lot of makeup. To do this, just use your favorite eyeliner. Now look slightly upwards then draw the line between your lashes rather than the top lash line. This trick will actually make the roots of your lashes appear thicker. Do the same with the other eye and you are done.

Set your lipstick.

If you love wearing lipstick then you know how embarrassing it can be to see your lipstick fade and leave that ring around your lips. Although, re-touching your lipstick is possible, why not help set your lipstick instead so that it will last longer? One of the best tricks to set your lipstick is to use a translucent powder. All that you have to do is to place a tissue on your lips then dust some translucent powder on it then remove the tissue afterwards. You’re good to go.

Double function for your lipstick.

With us rushing to and from parties and errands, we often forget to bring our makeup kit with us. If you find yourself missing your blush but have your lipstick with you, you can still get that blush going with your lipstick. Simply swipe the lipstick across your cheekbones and then blend with your fingers. You’ll get that natural glow on your cheeks with just one makeup product.
