6 Beauty Hacks that Really Work

Must read

Have you ever wondered what beauty secrets you should know about? Is looking good just a matter of wearing makeup all the time or smearing one’s skin with creams, serums, and the like? What can you do when your makeup products became dry? There are so many questions revolving around beauty that it is sometimes overwhelming to say the least. Fortunately, there are some beauty hacks that are not that complicated to try out or too difficult to remember even. Here are some examples of beauty tricks that actually work.

Deep condition with mayonnaise. If your hair has become dry because of the endless chemicals that you put on it or the constant heat that you subject it to, you will need some serious conditioning to revive it. There are pre-made deep conditioners available for sure, but it is always a good idea to go natural. You can mix a cup of mayonnaise with ¼ cup of olive oil and one egg yolk and combine them thoroughly. Add a small amount of water until you create a paste like consistency. Apply this treatment on damp or wet hair and massage for a few minutes. Cover your head with a hot towel or a shower cap and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse afterwards with warm water.

Blot with toilet seat covers. Oily skin can make your face appear shiny by the afternoon and if you don’t have any blotting paper on hand, you’re doomed. Or are you? The good news is that you can get some relief from your shiny face by heading to the restroom and getting some toilet seat covers. They wrok the same way as those expensive blotting paper plus you can stash some in your purse for those shiny moments.

Vinegar for dandruff. Dry scalp can cause flakes to fall down on your shoulders whenever you comb or rake your fingers through your hair. This can be pretty embarrassing especially when you’re wearing a dark colored top. Fortunately, using vinegar from the pantry can help you deal with dandruff. Also, vinegar can help remove any product buildup on your hair. All that you have to do is to mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a cup of warm water and wash your hair with it after you shampoo. Massage for a few minutes then rinse thoroughly. Don’t forget to condition your hair afterwards.

Lemon for acne. Acne breakouts can ruin your day and so are the scars that they leave behind. It’s true that there are acne treatments available over-the-counter, but when it comes to reducing the appearance of scars, using lemon is always a good idea. Just slice a lemon and dab some of its juice on the affected areas. Do this on a daily basis to help reduce scarring. Make sure that you wear sunscreen afterwards to prevent your skin from darkening.

Sugar and honey for exfoliating. Another beauty hack that has been tried and tested is combining sugar and honey to exfoliate your skin with. Exfoliating can remove dead skin cells to reveal healthy new skin underneath. The best thing about using sugar and honey is that sugar is gentle on the skin while the honey has nourishing properties that will make your skin soft and supple afterwards. Just mix two tablespoons of brown sugar and combine it with a tablespoon each of olive oil and honey. Use it to scrub your face, lips, and skin with.

Ice bath for nail polish. If you want to dry your newly applied nail polish quickly, you should make an ice bath to speed up the drying process. Usually, it will take up to four hours for your nail polish to completely dry but since you don’t have time to wait that long, dipping your nails in a bowl full of ice water will suffice. The cold temperature will harden your nail polish fairly quickly.
