5 Tips for Beautiful Skin for Teens

Must read

The teenage stage is where your child’s body undergo changes which can be frustrating to them to say the least, especially when it comes to their skin. Teens often have to contend with acne breakouts as their hormones start to go wild, their diet changes, and what not. How then will your teen be able to maintain their flawless looking skin? Fortunately, teaching your teen on how to manage their skin can be easy. Here are a few things that you can teach them.

Determine your skin type

It would be a good idea to start your teen’s skin care routine by knowing their skin type first. There are different skin types such as normal, dry, sensitive, oily, and combination skin. It is important that you know what your child has so you will be able to figure out a routine.

Cleanse your skin

Teach your teen to practice cleansing not just in the morning but at night too. Removing dirt, sweat, oil, and the like from their skin when they wake up can help prevent their pores from being clogged and, if they are wearing light makeup to school, they will need to remove them before bed time to give their skin a chance to breathe. This way, they will be able to preserve the natural beauty of their skin.

Skip the scrubs

Another tip for your teen to maintain beautiful skin is to avoid scrubs. At such as young age, you don’t really need to use scrubs as you are stripping away the natural oils on your skin. If you are seeing blackheads and whiteheads on your T-zone, make sure that you are following a cleansing routine properly. Avoid the use of salicylic acid unless advised by your dermatologist and under adult supervision as well.

Change your pillowcase

If you want to be able to protect your teen’s skin at this time when their hormones are raging and their skin is easy to break out in pimples, you will need to teach them that changing their pillowcases every two weeks can do their skin a world of good. One reason behind this is that you are exposing their skin to less dirt, dead skin cells, and the like.

Avoid picking on your skin

If your teen has a pimple, make sure that they don’t touch it or pick at it even as this can cause the bacteria to spread.
